LeBron James named as one of three finalists for 2018 NBA MVP

LeBron James, James Harden and Anthony Davis are on the shortlist for winning the MVP award as the National Basketball Association announced Wednesday the finalists for a number of awards to be handed out following the end of the postseason.

The finalists in all categories were determined by voting by a global panel of sportswriters and broadcasters.

The trio all put together terrific individual campaigns in the regular season for their respective teams and have been recognised for their exploits.

Embiid is up against Utah's Rudy Gobert and New Orleans' Anthony Davis.

The 28-year-old star was also third in the league in assists (8.8) and seventh in steals (1.75).

In a season that was anything but normal for the Cavaliers, James elevated his game to an fantastic level.
