But Rita's fellow singers Kehlani and Hayley Kiyoko have criticised the song, with Kiyoko saying its message was "dangerous" to the bisexual community. You can see her tweets below.

They appeared to bury the hatchet a year ago when the singer congratulated her ex on the arrival of his daughter dream with then-girlfriend Blac Chyna. "It's not obscene! It's my life!"

"Listen to "GIRLS" by Rita Ora ft me [Bebe Rexha] and [Charli XCX]. A song like this just fueld the male gaze while marginalizing the idea of women loving women".

The chorus goes "Sometimes I just wanna kiss girls, girls girls / red wine I just wanna kiss girls, girls, girls". "This type of message is unsafe because it completely belittles and invalidates the very pure feelings of an entire community".

"You guys want me to be something that I'm not and I'm not going to let you make me feel like I'm something that I'm not".

Singer Kehlani, who identifies as queer, echoed Kiyoko's concerns with some tweets of her own last Friday.

"Hate to be THAT guy but there were many awkward slurs, quotes, and moments that were like 'word? word".
