Gareth Southgate Leaves Joe Hart Out Of World Cup Squad

West Ham United goalkeeper Joe Hart has been told that he will not be part of the England squad heading to the World Cup in Russian Federation this summer.

He is set to confirm his 23-man England squad on Wednesday afternoon, with sources telling ESPN FC that he will omit West Ham goalkeeper Joe Hart and include in-form Burnley No. 1 Nick Pope.

England's former undisputed No.1 has seen his stock (and handling ability) tank dramatically over the past couple of seasons, unfairly becoming something of a punchline while Jordan Pickford, Jack Butland and now Nick Pope gradually usurped him at global level.

England face Nigeria at Wembley and Costa Rica at Elland Road next month in friendlies before they travel to Russian Federation for their opener against Tunisia.

And Express Sport understands Pickford will be between the sticks when the Three Lions take on their north African opponents in Volgograd on June 18.
