BlackBerry KEY2 To Launch On June 7 In New York

And while nothing was official back then, it looks like BlackBerry is ready to start teasing the device in a more official capacity. The unveiling will take place in NY at 10am on the aforementioned date.

The phone will be the follow-up to last year's BlackBerry KeyOne, which impressed us with its keyboard-led design and software security but which was something of a letdown in terms of the performance under the hood and all the other stuff a modern phone is supposed to handle these days - like music and movies.

BlackBerry is officially introducing its next-in-line BlackBerry Key2 smartphone at an event scheduled for June 7, 2018, in New York City. As of now, there is no clarity on what BlackBerry will pack in the KEYone successor, but there is no doubt that it will have a physical keyboard, which was a massive part of the company's success in its heydays.

BlackBerry tweeted about the launch of the smartphone with a poster that mentions "An Icon Reborn". This is the same smartphone which was spotted on the Chinese certification website TENAA that revealed some possible specifications of the BlackBerry Key2. If the leaked images are anything to go by, the KEY2 will have a completely rubberised and textured panel in the rear, as compared to KEYone that did not have textured design above the rear camera setup.
