PDP Primary: Internal Democracy Wins In Ekiti As Olusola Floors Adeyeye

The aspirants are the present Deputy Governor, Kolapo Ishola, the lawmaker representing Ekiti South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Abiodun Olujimi, and the immediate past PDP National Publicity Secretary, Dayo Adeyeye.

Journalists and others were screened by fierce-looking policemen stationed at the gates.

The others, according to him, are former federal lawmakers, speakers, serving and former members of National Executive Committee, who are still members of the party and former governors.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that 27 out of the about 33 governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti state have reportedly vowed to resist the plan by the National Secretariat to continue last Saturday's primary election from where it stopped.

Speaking after he cast his vote, Adeyeye commended Governor Okowa for doing an excellent job.

"In journeys like this, there would be a divide".

The PDP had also restated its resolve to be transparent and to ensure an all-inclusive playing ground for all aspirants in all the processes leading to the governorship primary.

He said Adeyeye had told him of his acceptance of the results before leaving. "Whoever wins, we would join hands together".
