The character, played by Matt Ryan, originated on television in the series Constantine from NBC that was quickly canceled and four years later that role is now set as a series regular on The CW's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW.
Although The CW has yet to renew the program for another season, "Legends of Tomorrow", along with its fellow DC superhero series, is expected to return for another run. It's the culmination of a surprising turnaround following the one-season run of Constantine on NBC, from October 2014 to February 2015.
The show recently lost series regulars Wentworth Miller, Victor Garber, and Franz Drameh this season, and Ryan's new status would help replenish those ranks should the series come back for a fourth cycle. He's certainly got quite the history with Sara Lance and, to go along with that, we hope that his appearance on this show could lead to some other characters from his world appearing in some capacity. This appearance officially confirmed the character's existence in the Arrowverse. He'll be appearing at least once more before the season ends which will probably include a scene where he's invited to stick around. He will also voice the character in the CW Seed animated series that debuts on March 24.
