Showers and flurries are likely tonight

The snow showers will be pouring in from north to south later today and a few of these streamers will limit visibility, lay down a coating or more, and make travel at least temporarily tricky. That means we could see some changeover from rain to a rain/snow mix or just snow very early Monday morning. Winds will briefly ease to 5-10 miles per hour out of the northwest overnight, but will increase quickly on Tuesday. Factor in what should be a persistently brisk breeze and it will feel a bit colder, with wind chills frequently around or below freezing through the rest of the week.

Our next storm may deliver a shot of rain and/or wet snow next Monday night and Tuesday, as well as help to reinforce the cooler temperatures that have been in place much of the month. The second round of showers could contain some heavy rainfall at times which is much needed. The chance for showers will last into Saturday, but mostly in the mountains. We will see a mixture of sun and clouds today with more sunshine for midday and more clouds this afternoon.

TONIGHT: Snow showers/squalls. Low: Near 30.
