Raiders cut Sean Smith; CB to be sentenced to prison for assault


His next pact reportedly involves one year in jail and three years on probation.

Smith was arrested last August 17 for allegedly assaulting his sister's then-boyfriend, Christopher Woods, last July 4.

Smith is due in court April 5.

After signing a four-year, $38 million free-agent contract with the Raiders in 2016, Smith struggled immediately, getting benched at New Orleans?in the season opener.

The Raiders now have moved on from Smith and David Amerson this offseason.
