Katy Perry takes a tumble and flashes fellow 'American Idol' judges

The new "American Idol", hosted by Ryan Seacrest, airs Sundays and Mondays on ABC at 8 p.m. Auditions continue tonight with judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.

Season two finalist and CT resident Kimberley Locke gives us a whole recap. Over the years, viewership declined as judges were shuffled and winning contestants were less successful, plus competition increased from other reality TV shows such as "The Voice", "America's Got Talent" and "The X Factor". One noticeable thing about the show is that the auditions have taken place in Nashville, Orlando, New York, but a majority of the contestants have come from red states like Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

There were also multiple heartwrenching backstories: 22-year-old Ron Bultongez talked about coping with his abusive father.

Perry commented that she loved "where [Turner's] mind's at", while Bryan said she is "interesting and brilliant beyond [her] years". When Harper was 11, she became an Internet laughingstock for singing what was considered the "worst national anthem ever". Each judge recommended that she stay committed to the Great White Way rather than a recording contract. Lionel, Katy and Luke did you hear what the home audience heard? hearing?

"Once you're in front of the judges, it is very quick". In fact, Perry turned it into a hilarious moment as she then proceeded to pretend like she couldn't get off of the floor, slipping and spreading her legs wide, in a mini dress.
