"Absolutely", Fraser told GQ.
Initially overcome with fear, Fraser alleges he was eventually able to remove Berk's hand. But Fraser says what Berk did was more than a pinch: "His left hand reaches around, grabs my ass cheek, and one of his fingers touches me in the taint".
Fraser alleges Berk grabbed his rear end and, through his trousers, touched him in the area between his genitals and his anus. I felt like a little kid. "I didn't want to contend with how that made me feel, or it becoming part of my narrative", he says. "I was blaming myself and I was miserable - because I was saying, 'This is nothing; this guy reached around and he copped a feel.' That summer wore on - and I can't remember what I went on to work on next".
He told GQ he thought about going public with what happened, but he was afraid that such a disclosure would destroy his career. The actor immediately left the luncheon and went home to his wife, who he said he told about the interaction.
Brendan Fraser has finally come clean as to why he stepped away from Hollywood in 2003, and in doing so shared his #MeToo moment.
Fraser said he was emboldened to come forward by the #MeToo and Time's Up movements.
Letter aside, Fraser said, the experience "made me retreat". In an email statement to GQ, Berk denied this version of the event in question, writing, "Mr. Fraser's version is a total fabrication". The actor is best known for his portrayal as Rick O' Connell in The Mummy trilogy but though the series made him a star, it cost him dearly.

He reckons the only way they can build bridges with the fans is by winning games, starting on Saturday. "What message?" said Pardew.
"I don't know if this curried disfavor with the group, with the HFPA. But the silence was deafening".
Fraser said the HFPA agreed to make sure Beck would never be in the same room as him again.
He tells GQ: "Am I still frightened?" Do I feel like I need to say something' Absolutely. Berk, meanwhile, remains a member of the HFPA and attended the most recent Golden Globes - which, of course, was the one with the all-black red carpet and the Time's Up pins. Absolutely. Have I stopped myself?
"Maybe I am over-reacting in terms of what the instance was", he continued. "I just know what my truth is", he added.
While numerous most high-profile Hollywood stars to report sexual harassment or assault have been female, the experiences are common for men too, according to a survey released Wednesday by the group Stop Street Harassment.
Fraser's account is disconcertingly reminiscent of reports from women in Hollywood who have spoken out about experiencing professional retaliation after being harassed or assaulted.
"I believe I probably was trying too hard, in a way that's destructive", Fraser said. "I call them friends in my mind. I watched this wonderful movement, these people with the courage to say what I didn't have the courage to say".
