Vegan Figure Skater Meagan Duhamel Wins Gold at Winter Olympics

But Radford's win signals a major first in the Winter Games, which had previously hosted LGBTQ athletes, but never a gold medalist. He has since continued to build himself a large social media following with this witty postings and LGBTI advocacy. I'm happy for him and all the other athletes who worked and trained practically their whole lives to get there.

British author and LGBT rights activist Greg Hogben replied: "I understand what you're saying, but I think the historic first of a positive role model for LGBT kids should be recognized and celebrated".
