Xiaomi has announced the Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi Note 5 in India at a starting price of Rs 9,999 and Rs 13,999 respectively. According to Xiaomi, the Mi LED Smart TV 4 will go on sale beginning February 22, along with the Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro phones, via Flipkart.com, Mi.com and Mi Home stores.
The "Pro" version offers slight upgrades over Redmi Note 5 with its main focus being on the smartphone camera. "We shipped almost 9.6 million Redmi Note 4 handsets in 2017", Manu Kumar Jain, Xiaomi India Managing Director and Global Vice President, told the gathering at the event. Xiaomi is making India launch the debut of the smartphone globally as it hasn't launched the Redmi Note 5 in any other region, not even in China. This is the first time that Xiaomi has ventured in the consumer electronics market in India. It is a smart TV running on Xiaomi's PatchWall UI based on Android OS.

For selfies, there's a 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 sensor with Beautify 4.0 AI algorithm, and selfie light for low-light conditions. It runs on Android 7.1.2 (Nougat) with MIUI 9. The Mi TV series was originally unveiled at CES 2017 and went on sale in China in June previous year. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4 / 5GHz) 2X2, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Mi Port, 3 x HDMI 2.0, AV, 1 x USB 2.0 x 1, USB 3.0 x 1 and Ethernet.
