Dogs are judged on the basis of how well they stack up against breed characteristics as set by the American Kennel Club.

The show recently added agility and obedience events open to mixed breed dogs, and Westminster is emphasizing this year that breed clubs also rescue dogs.

Now, Davis has been showing dogs for more than 10 years and has shown at this dog show before, but has never "gone this far" at the prestigious dog event.

"He kept wagging his tail and that sold himself to me", Stenmark said. I didn't really expect it to be honest with you.
