North and South Korea enter Winter Olympics as one

North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un has extended a rare invitation to South Korea's President Moon Jae-in to visit Pyongyang.

"We are not giving any information on the itinerary of President Moon in advance", a spokesman told AFP. Pence fired off a tweet calling the North's participation in the Games a "propaganda charade" and saying the world must not "turn a blind eye to the oppression and threats of the Kim regime".

"We are all touched by this wonderful gesture", said Thomas Bach, the president of the International Olympic Committee, according to AP. The rhetoric war between North Korea and the Trump administration hasn't skipped a beat in Pyeongchang.

The 19-year-old Swiss forward Alina Muller are the star of the game with four goals, while Phoebe Staenz and Lara Stalder gave two goals each for Switzerland in the second and last period respectively. The two sides agreed to promote dialogue and cooperation between the two countries.

"What can not be overlooked is that Moon did not directly demand North Korea to abandon its nuclear development".

But Schoff said that by pouring cold water on hopes for better inter-Korean relations, Pence's stance could be viewed as critical of Moon's outreach to North Korea. Washington has made clear that it will not have any contact with Pyongyang unless it embarks on substantial denuclearization.

At the opening ceremonies on Friday, Pence sat stone-faced in his seat as Moon and North Korean officials stood together with much of the stadium to applaud their joint team of athletes.

The unified ice hockey team for the Pyeongchang Olympics is a product of a landmark thaw between the rival Koreas following a year of high tensions over the nuclear-armed North's weapons ambitions. The United States fought with South Korea and maintains tens of thousands of troops and an "ironclad" agreement to protect its ally. A special train had been prepared just for the visitors, a Blue House pool report said.

Trump's administration has been adamant that North Korea must first freeze its military programs before talks can take place.

That was not the case with Moon - either at the games, when he enthusiastically reached up to shake Kim Yo Jong's hand, or at the lunch the next day.

Kim Yo Jong, who is believed to be about 30, has been rapidly rising within the North's power structure and is believed to be in charge of shaping her brother's public persona.

An analysis of photos of the meeting showed that the emblem was the official state symbol of North Korea. She's the first family member of the Kim dynasty to set foot in the south.

The handwritten invitation was delivered by Mr Kim's influential sister, Kim Yo-jong, at a landmark meeting in the presidential palace in Seoul, as the Winter Olympics opened. In 2016, he created the new agency and put himself in charge of it. Kim Yo Jong's promotion previous year brought her closer to the center of power in the isolated state. The delegation bid farewell to late South Korean President Kim Dae-jung.

This is her first high-profile global appearance though she is technically just a member of a delegation headed by the North's aging senior statesman, 90-year-old Kim Yong Nam.
