California woman reported missing found on 'The Bachelor'

On Nov 18, 2017, Martinez's mother called the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office in California to issue a missing persons report for the 22-year-old, saying she hadn't had contact with her daughter since November 12.

But late last week, news broke that the season 22 contestant had been mistakenly listed as a missing person in California - which has led to some interesting theories from viewers, including Kelly Ripa.

"Martinez had reportedly come to Humboldt County to work on a marijuana farm", Karges told the Journal. Below the picture of the woman was the caption: "Rebekah Helena Martinez was last seen November".

"As part of procedure, Humboldt County Sheriff's Office deputies are typically required to make direct contact with the missing person to confirm status and well-being, as geographical and other factors allow", the sheriff's office said in a statement.

Californian woman Rebekah Martinez (in main photo) is now one of the favourites on the USA version of the show and it come as good news to her family after they reported her missing in mid-November. Martinez's mother told authorities that her daughter was heading to a marijuana farm with friends and she had last spoken to her daughter on November 18.

Rebekah Martinez, 22, has been competing on Season 22 of the popular series since January 1. In November, she was reported missing by her mother in California, and is still now listed as missing on the attorney general's.

According to Martinez's own Instagram account, she was cutting off contact from the outside world in September due to producers' strict policy of disallowing outside interaction for contestants. She has been live-tweeting the Bachelor season every week, after all.

'MOM. how many times do I have to tell you I don't get cell service on The Bachelor??' she wrote.

Deputies were later able to speak to Bekah and confirmed she was OK. As the Journal points out, however, she has been posting regularly on Instagram since her mother filed the report.
