Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Nacho each netted a brace as Real Madrid overcame an early deficit and thumped Deportivo at the Bernabeu.

Ronaldo struck after 78 and 84 minutes before Nacho helped himself to a second on an afternoon when Deportivo goalkeeper Ruben made a series of fine saves to spare his team further damage.

Cristiano Ronaldo shared a joke with a pair of mascots at Lionel Messi's expense in the tunnel before Real Madrid's 7-1 thrashing of Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday.

Ronaldo caught a stray boot to the head as he powered an effort past Ruben, and proceeded to stay down in order to receive treatment in the immediate aftermath.

A 5-0 VICTORY over Real Betis extended Barcelona's lead over Atletico Madrid to 11 points at the La Liga summit.

Ruben managed to repel Casemiro's firm 58th-minute header, but once again his efforts proved in vain as Bale got his head to Toni Kroos' resulting corner to glance home his side's third goal.
