Maruti Suzuki to unveil all-new Swift at Auto Expo 2018


The carmaker has officially started accepting bookings for the much-anticipated hatchback in the country with a booking amount of Rs 11,000. Here, the vehicle will be offered in a total of 12 variants, and will be powered by the same 1.2-litre K12 petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine as seen on the outgoing auto. The new model of the hot hatch is now wider, offers a longer wheelbase and delivers more shoulder room and headroom in the cabin. The Swift, which continues to feature among the top five best selling cars in India for over a decade, now comes with a brand new design.

The 2018 Swift will be the fourth-gen model since its launch in 2005 and was a part of the Indo-Japanese lineup's bestsellers which also includes the Alto, WagonR, and the Dzire since then.

It gets single-aperture front grille design, floating roof, wrap around windows and windshield with unified DLO (day light opening) graphic, sleek projector headlamps with DRLs and would rids on precision cut two-tone alloy wheels.

Luggage space in the new Swift has been increased by 58 litres, around 28% more than the second generation auto. The rear gets new lamps and a new bumper as well. The new tail-lamps look like a blend of Baleno and the old Swift's units. In its newest avatar, the Swift undergoes a bold transformation to meet the aspiration of young and ever changing customer. The vehicle gets new alloys, floating roof design and new front and rear bumpers. Apart from the manual transmission, it will be offered in Auto Gear Shift (AGS) transmission in both petrol and diesel trims.

The 2018 Suzuki Swift's design is more aerodynamic and has many new sharper lines and design elements.
