This Dark Souls Trilogy Box Set announced for Japan is rather cool

As a spiritual sequel to 2009's Demon's Souls, Dark Souls instantly became a fan-favorite with its challenging but rewarding action-RPG gameplay.

Yesterday, Bandai Namco Entertainment delighted fans with the announcement of a Dark Souls trilogy box set that is set to include Dark Souls Remastered, Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin, and Dark Souls 3: The Fires Fade Edition, exclusively for PlayStation 4.

Bandai Namco has revealed an awesome box set for all three Dark Souls games, but it's only for Japan and it costs the equivalent of £330.

Though it's unclear just how Dark Souls: Remastered will perform undocked, my bet is that the Switch will run it at a standard 720p 30 fps (which isn't bad). For comparison purposes, the game will run with upscaled 4K on Xbox One and PS4 Pro, and there is no mention at all for the quality of their textures.

It is important to note that this is not an official confirmation so take it as a grain of salt until Nintendo officially announces the games for Nintendo Switch. It's coming out on the PlayStation 4 in late May. The most recent game in the series to be released was "Dark Souls III" in 2016.

So far Bandai Namco has only announced the Trilogy Box for Japan and for the PlayStation 4. Also in the set are three item encyclopedias, ten art sheets (including a special frame), and two bookends, one with a bonfire, and one with a knight.

As it stands, the Dark Souls trilogy box set is rather expensive, costing 49,800 Yen or roughly $450. Some games try to scare you with bump-in-the-night shocks and far-off howls, but Dark Souls doesn't require such predictable methods of terror.
