Sandra was heard saying "well done" to India as they hugged.

Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on Channel 5.

She added: 'Obviously, it's good to explore a little bit but it's much better.

India was nominated by nearly all of her female co-stars while Jonny received nods from Rachel Johnson, 52, Maggie Oliver and Ashley James, 30.

"I should have come in and kept my gob shut, but it's pointless, I got it wrong and I know that".

Speaking in the Diary Room, she said: "I think these early outbursts have cost me".

The journalist, 52, was up against Love Island star Jonny Mitchell but failed to win the vote to save so left the compound tonight.

After the voting lines had closed, Emma crossed live to the house to reveal that India Willoughby received the fewest votes and would therefore be the first to be evicted.

The transgender star spoke frequently about her status in the house and frustrated housemates who wanted to get to know her beyond that, and now she realises she's done herself an injustice.

Bookmakers had India as odds on favourite to be evicted.

'I think I hit a really big one with the gender question.' She was greeted by her mother Sandra, looking emotional as she said 'I missed you!'

Since going public India has continued her work with ITV's local news programmes in the region and appeared on a series of high profile shows.
