BJP warns of 'jail bharo' stir in Karnataka tomorrow

Opposition BJP in Karnataka will launch Statewide "jail bharo" agitation on Friday against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's remarks that BJP and RSS were extremists, BJP General Secretary and Lok Sabha member Shobha Kharandlje said here on Thursday.Speaking to reporters, she said the party's activists would launch protests in support of the RSS. In 2017, the BJP chose Adityanath as the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister after the party swept the state election. "You can seek clarification from him, he won't speak anything of this kind if he has no intelligence input," Congress spokesperson Tom Vadakkan told reporters here, when asked to comment on Siddaramaiah's remarks.

Addressing a rally in Karnataka yesterday, Shah charged the state government with perpetrating atrocities against BJP and RSS workers, claiming 20 of them were killed in the state over the last three years.

Siddaramaiah, who came under intense attack from the BJP yesterday for saying that the party and its fountainhead RSS had "terrorists", today called them "Hindutva extremists".

To this, Siddaramaiah had angrily retorted: "I have reared cows, grazed them and even cleaned the dung".

A day earlier, Adityanath had mocked at Siddaramaiah's assertion about his Hindu credentials to which the latter had said the Hindutva he follows was the legacy of Swami Vivekananda and not Nathuram Godse, assassin of Mahatma Gandhi.

Other BJP leaders also threatened to file a slew of criminal defamation cases against the Congress. "But Amit Shah, whatever gameplan he employs, he will not be able to take the party to majority as people of the state have 'already" chose to give Congress another term, ' he claimed.
