Arsenal submit enquiry for Boca Juniors winger Cristian Pavon

Pavon's explosive style earmarks him as the ideal replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

Boca Juniors do not want or expect Cristian Pavon to leave the club this month, and only Arsenal paying his £28m release clause and reassurances from Argentina coach Jorge Sampaoli would convince the young forward to leave.

The Gunners are rumoured to be ready to activate the 21-year-old's release clause, which is said to be valued at €37 million.

Yet even if Arsenal do activate Pavon's release clause, the Argentina global is concerned a move may hinder his Federation Internationale de Football Association 2018 World Cup hopes and would need assurances from coach Jorge Sampaoli, per The Independent's Ed Malyon.

Pavon's Boca contract contains a £27m release clause. "For now, they are all rumours, as always, just comments in the corridors". I am not going to cut off his career, but we made him a nice contract so that he would be comfortable.

Pavón, 21, has only played twice for Argentina, in a pair of friendlies last summer, but knows that a strong six months with the biggest country in his homeland would likely secure him a spot on the plane to Russian Federation.
