TCL Debuts Alto Roku Smart Sound Bar

Roku Connect will enable Roku TVs to easily connect to other AV devices in the Roku ecosystem such as soundbars and speakers enabling consumers to easily add great sound to a TV and audio system around the home. This frees the manufacturers of the expensive development and maintenance that comes with the software side of hardware. With Roku, it introduced the Alto-line TCL Roku Smart Soundbar, due out in late 2018; it is the first device to launch from Roku's newly announced Whole Home Entertainment Licensing program. Like the upcoming soundbar, both TV lines feature Roku OS and Roku Connect, making for some strong synergy.

In recent days, Roku announced plans to develop its own voice assistant, one simply called Roku Entertainment Assistant; it also announced Roku Connect. Today at CES, TCL unveiled which new Roku devices it has in store: the Alto family of audio products, starting with the TCL Roku Smart Soundbar. This is the more powerful version of Roku's existing voice platform that's created to work with the new range of Roku Connect products from OEMs. Leave us a comment and let us know. Equipped with Dolby Vision tech the TV is said to deliver greater brightness and contrast, as well as a fuller palette of rich colors.

"The X6 is by far TCLs premier panel, with an outstanding 85" Quantum Dot LED panel, featuring a 4K Dolby Vision HDR display and incorporating a Dolby Atmos powered 360 surround system by Harman Kardon this may be an "All in One" home theatre.

TCL is also claiming that the 6 Series delivers even higher contrast than the P-Series did (and the P-Series offered some truly exceptional contrast ratios with local dimming activated) and that the 2018 TVs will offer higher peak brightness along with better gaming performance than the P-Series, which also did both of these things quite well. Likewise, the 5-Series models eequipped with iPQ Engine also offers precise color replication and HDR Pro Gamma to significantly improve HDR performance in any setting. An all new iPQ Engine allows for precision color performance, tailored to deliver accurate and optimized DCI-P3 color space coverage.
