WhatsApp has launched a feature in its beta version that will let users switch to video calls from voice calls at the touch of a button. The feature is available in the latest beta version of the app with the version number 2.18.4. If the other person accepts the request, then the audio call will automatically convert into video call.
The new feature was spotted by WABetaInfo, which says it is now only available to people who have signed up to the beta version of WhatsApp. This is particularly useful if you send a message to the wrong chat or if the message you sent contains a mistake.
Last month, WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp mistakenly rolled out the "Reply Privately" feature in a beta update that would allow users to privately send a message to a participant in a group without anyone else knowing about it.

Whatsapp beta has received a new update to Windows Phone devices. Additionally, any incoming call would interrupt and abandon the voice recording process, this bottleneck also seems to be solved now. They are preparing to bring a new option for the voice and video calls in a group. In 2016, WhatsApp added video call functionality to their app but there was no update to that option until now.
However, it should be noted that the button is only visible when a user is on a call via WhatsApp, or at least that is the case in beta. With the coming of the new feature, you will see an icon on the screen, on clicking which WhatsApp will directly switch the voice call to video. So it consume a lot of time of the users. On the other hand, it is unclear if iOS users will get the feature or not. The feature was first spotted by WABetaInfo and it seems, the messaging application is now only testing this feature, collecting feedback from the beta users to make it work better.
