Whatever may or may not happen when the Disney-Fox deal concludes its long regulatory review process, it appears to matter little to the development side of 20th Century Fox, which seems to be proceeding with business as usual, including in the development of yet another X-Men spinoff, this one starring Kitty Pryde, aka Shadowcat.
A Kitty Pryde movie is in development at Fox from Deadpool's Tim Miller. Fox becoming an entity of Disney of one of many things which could prevent the film from ever heading toward production but the development is a clear sign that Fox has no plans to slow down as they look toward the uncertain future. Releasing later this year are New Mutants, Deadpool 2 and X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
The character already appears in four films, the original "X-Men" in 2000, "X2: X-Men United" in 2003, "X-Men: The Last Stand" in 2006 and "X-Men: Days of Future Past" in 2014. For the uninitiated, Shadowcat is known for her ability to "phase", essentially allowing her to pass through solid objects and disrupt electromagnetic fields - much to the bemusement of Vinnie Jones' Juggernaut. In addition to Pryde herself, Colossus, who also featured prominently in Deadpool, is set to star in the film as Kitty's love interest.

However, Miller's involvement should give fans a clue as to how potentially far off this project remains.
Miller is also developing a movie based upon the beloved Sega character Sonic The Hedgehog, and will also be helming a new Terminator movie, so he's a very busy boy.
Miller was originally going to direct Deadpool 2 after the success of the first movie.
