In a weird end to a well-planned murder, mutton soup served at a Hyderabad hospital exposed the crime committed by a 27-year-old woman and her lover.

Police in Telangana revealed the shocking facts unearthed during the investigations of the chilling crime in Nagarkurnool town. When the police grilled Swathi, she confessed to killing her husband with the help of Rajesh. However, she came close to Rajesh, a physiotherapist.

They are said to have raised the alarm after bringing mutton soup in to hospital - one of Sudhakar's favourites - only for the bogus patient to turn it down saying he was a vegetarian. "They hatched a conspiracy to ensure Rajesh could take the place of Sudhakar and take control over [his] properties", Nagarkurnool Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) A Lakshmi Narayana told reporters.

According to the investigating officers, Rajesh was still imagining himself as Sudhakar and he had no idea about the developments, including the arrest of Swathi.

After being inspired by the Allu Arjun's Telugu movie "Yevadu", the lovers made a decision to kill the husband by injecting him with anaesthesia. Believe it or not, they nearly succeeded in their plan, but then the story took a dramatic turn.

Another officer told Gulf News Reddy had found out about the two-year-old affair and Swathi had become fearful of her husband.

"When he was unconscious, she and her lover, Rajesh, hit her husband Sudhakar on the head with an iron rod and bludgeoned him to death".

MI police open investigation after child detained
As officers were setting up a perimeter, three females simultaneously exited the home, two adults and one 11-year-old juvenile. According to police spokeswoman Cathy Williams, the girl was then detained in the police cruiser for about 10 minutes.

Based on the information provided by her, they recovered the burnt remnants of the body from the forest area.

Swathi poured acid on Rajesh's face him and informed Sudhakar's family that unidentified persons attacked him and disfigured his face.

Police arrested Swati Dec. 10. Subsequently, an 'injured Rajesh, who was pretending as Sudhakar, was shifted to Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad.

Then the family noticed more differences in Rajesh's behaviour and reportedly started testing him by asking him to identify relatives. "It was then, the family began suspecting him".

Swathi is now in police custody, while Rajesh will be interrogated after he is discharged from the hospital.

This was a crime of passion with a gory twist and the plot weaved around the Tollywood blockbuster, Evadu, in which actor Allu Arjun underwent plastic surgery to resemble another character (Ram Charan Tej).
