According to the aggrieved family, the twins were born premature on November 30. The parents alleged the babies were declared dead by the Max Hospital in Shalimar Bagh but they later discovered that the boy was alive.
The baby was admitted to a private nursing home in Pitampura where he was put on a ventilator and the doctors said that the due to the premature birth, his condition was serious and that his chances of survival slim. However, Dr Sanjeev Gupta of Aggarwal Hospital said that baby was of just 22 weeks and it was hard for him to survive from the start as he needed too much support. "We don't trust the doctors there", Malik said.
The babies were placed in plastic bags and the family was driving to the crematorium when they saw movement. "I will not take my son's body until the two doctors are arrested, so that we get justice", he said. "The complications later began and the child had multi-organ dysfunction", he told PTI.
"He was unable to keep his vitals up".
"We knew from the beginning that he may not survive but we were trying our best. Had the baby not been exposed for so many hours after his birth, maybe we could have probably prolonged his life", Gupta added.

According to reports, Satyender Jain, the state health minister, has called for a probe of the privately run Max Hospital warning that the hospital's licence could be cancelled if it is found guilty of medical negligence.
