Nederland to delay Thanksgiving garbage pick-up

The following will be closed Thursday and Friday: state government offices; City of Sumter offices; Sumter County offices; City of Manning offices; Clarendon County offices; Lee County offices; and City of Bishopville offices.

The Wayne County Landfill will be open Wednesday, closed on Thursday, and open on Friday. All library branches, the Pet Center, and Animal Control will resume standard business hours on Saturday.

The News Courier will also be closed both days.

There will be no change to the pickup schedule the week of Thanksgiving. Comments containing anything that is deemed profane may be deleted entirely.

The office of the Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller will close Thursday and Friday and reopen Monday at 8:30 a.m. Many will open early Friday.

A mobile FEMA Disaster Recovery Center will be open from 9 a.m.to 7 p.m. on Nov. 21, Nov. 22 and Nov. 24 at the Solomon Calhoun Community Center, 1300 Duval St., to assist St. Johns County residents affected by Hurricane Irma.
