Cameras Catch Plane's Crash Landing in Central Florida

The plane crash was witnessed by two police officers from Pinellas County in Florida, USA.

Two deputies who were responding to an unrelated call for service in the area caught the crash on their dashcam.

In the video, a plane can be seen flying very low over the highway.

The pilot, 61-year-old Marc Allen Benedict, told police that he and passenger Gregory Guinee, 55, experienced engine problems after taking off from an airport in Clearwater.

The plane then clipped a tree, causing a large branch to fall in the middle of the road, before it crash-landed on the highway.

The deputies headed for the crash scene and found that the pilot and his passenger were able to walk away from the downed aircraft unhurt.

The cause of the plane crash has not been determined yet.

The plane ended up going down on Keene Road about a half mile from the air park.

The pilot said he knew he wouldn't make it to the airport and started looking for a safe place to land, which was the road.

Investigators say both the pilot and his passenger reported no injuries and refused medical treatment.
