For the second time in the last three years, the Lobo women's cross country team won the national title at the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships in Louisville, relying on a dominant performance by individual victor Ednah Kurgat for its second team title ever.

Utah State's Alyssa Snyder led the way with a 25th-place finish and a time of 20:03.4 as Utah State's women's team finished 14th in its first appearance at the national finals. On the men's side, it will be the ultimate XC rematch for the individual title, between Justyn Knight and Grant Fisher.
