MLB Awards: Diamondbacks' Torey Lovullo named 2017 NL Manager of the Year

The Los Angeles Dodgers sophomore manager, Dave Roberts, finished second for the National League Manager of the Year Award as announced by the Baseball Writers Association of America on Tuesday.

Lovullo received 18-of-30 first place votes en route to the honor.

Molitor is just the second Hall of Fame player to be named Manager of the Year.

The second day of Major League Baseball's postseason awards held a lot more mystery than the first, as the Manager of the Year awards were handed out and all six finalists had a legit case for winning. It's a deserving award for Lovullo, who led the Diamondbacks to the NLDS during his first year as manager. Arizona jumped 24 wins, finishing 93-69 in 2017 after posting the exact opposite record, 69-93, the year before.
