UFC Winnipeg Headlined by Robbie Lawler vs. Rafael dos Anjos


UFC Winnipeg (UFC on FOX 26) takes place December 16 at the Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Former welterweight champ Robbie Lawler has been booked to take on former lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos in the Canadian city, the UFC announced Thursday.

Now Lawler will look to pick up a win over another former champion to put himself into position to potentially battle for the title again in 2018.

Tickets for the show go on sale to the public on October 20th, and to Fight Club members on October 18th.

Lufthansa shares were up over 2.9%, which was the highest mover on the DAX market index in Germany in Thursday morning trading. Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr said earlier he expected the European Union to approve the transaction by the end of 2017.

Lawler recently got back in the win column after a high-profile setback, outpointing Donald Cerrone in July at UFC 214.

A meeting of ex-champs is now the headliner for UFC on FOX 26. In the other, we'll have former lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos. It had been one year since "Ruthless" stepped into the octagon following a knockout loss to current champ Tyron Woodley at UFC 201.

Since moving up, dos Anjos is 2-0, including a one-sided submission victory over Neil Magny at UFC 215 last month.

In what is shaping up to be the co-main event, No. 3 ranked Glover Teixeira will square off with No. 8 ranked Misha Cirkunov in a light-heavyweight bout. Cirkunov had won eight fights in a row before being knocked out in 28 seconds by Volkan Oezdemir on May 28th in Stockholm.

Canada will be well represented on the card, with Ultimate Fighter Nations victor Chad Laprise taking on Galore Bofando in a welterweight bout. More fights are expected to be added.
