The electric auto maker emailed Tesla customers on Thursday regarding the recall, stating that "a small number of cables in the second row fold-flat seats" may need to be adjusted.
Tesla Inc.is recalling 11,000 Model X SUVs worldwide because their rear seats might not lock into place.
The company added that only around three percent of the recalled vehicles may have the issue.
The issue was originally found during internal testing and Tesla has not received reports of any issues or accidents related to the problem.

The company also said that it can attend to all the needed repairs with its mobile fix service and owners can send their vehicle to the nearest Tesla Service Centre if they choose to do so.
The problem, which was discovered in internal testing, involves incorrectly adjusted seat cables. Unlike the Model S and Model X, which are luxury cars made for profit margin not volume, Tesla is planning on churning out hundreds of thousands of Model 3s to work through its massive pre-order backlog.
The AP reports that the issue is due to a cable in the seat not being tightened correctly, which prevents the left seat from locking in the upright position.
