Ruled out for Crystal Palace match

Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante has reportedly been ruled out of action for the foreseeable future after sustaining a hamstring injury on global duty.

Kante picked up the injury whilst on worldwide duty with France and is now undergoing weekly scans with Chelsea's medical team.

"With Kante we are going to do a scan next week to check his situation and if it is improving".

An initial scan suggested the 26-year-old would be out for up to 25 days, but Conte is hoping a second one will give him better news. It's a big loss for us because you know the importance of Kante in our team.

The champions, fourth in the table on 13 points after seven games, have league matches against Watford and Bournemouth, as well as a Champions League double-header with Roma and a League Cup clash with Everton this month.

China's trade growth picks up pace, suggesting robust economy

"We are not lucky in this period".

Michy Batshuayi could replace Morata in the starting XI, or manager Antonio Conte could use Eden Hazard, Pedro or even Cesc Fabregas as a false 9.

"In this area of the field we have only Bakayoko and Fabregas".

Academy graduates Kyle Scott and Ethan Ampadu are both being tipped for a place in the squad while David Luiz is available after suspension.

"In Kante's situation you have to have another scan to understand the situation very well", Conte said. For me he is one of the best central defenders. If I can I prefer don't change a lot, also because you [could] try and find a solution and you lose something with the defence. "When I chose to use him in the midfielder against Tottenham, it could be an option if I play with three midfielders".
