Lee's debut independent film She's Gotta Have It is now a Netflix Original series coming out on Thanksgiving.

Spike Lee is coming to Netflix. But, as she'll remind you, "I'm not a freak, I'm not a sex addict, and I'm damn sure nobody's property". Nola is not who you want her to be.

Lee produced the series with his wife, Tonya Lewis Lee, who originally conceived the idea to turn the film into a series, and production partners Barry Michael Cooper and Lynn Nottage. If Nola Darling can get through this series without being punished for enjoying herself, I will consider it a guide to life.

The seriously sexy comedy stars breakout actress DeWanda Wise as Nola Darling, an uncompromising woman in her late twenties struggling to define herself and divide her time among her Friends, her Job and her Three Lovers: The Cultured Model, Greer Childs, The Protective Investment Banker, Jamie Overstreet and Da Original B-Boy Sneakerhead, Mars Blackmon.

The outspoken film director, who most recently made headlines for mistakenly congratulating blackballed National Football League quarterback Colin Kaepernick on signing with the Seattle Seahawks (which, unfortunately, didn't really happen), will direct all ten episodes, which will officially "air" on Thanksgiving Day.

Of course, Darling is also surrounded by a stable of friends played by Margot Bingham, Chyna Layne, and Elise Hudson.
