Anne Cameron, 79, disappeared from a Port Douglas nursing home on Tuesday, with police unable to rule out the possibility she had been attacked by a crocodile after wandering down to a nearby river.
'We believe she's wandered in there and gotten lost, it's our theory that she's become disorientated and walked through that area'.
Police have found clothes and other items of interest belonging to Anne Cameron at the end of Four Mile Beach.

The human remains are undergoing forensic testing.
"Because of the proximity of these items and this unknown material located near this creek bank, we can not rule out the possibility of a croc attack", he added.
The woman was reported missing from the OzCare aged facility.

Mrs Cameron was known to suffer from dementia, and her disappearance sparked a major search operation.
"We continue to search that area in the hopes we do find her alive".
Members of the public in the area are being asked to check their property for any signs of her. "Police hold grave concerns for her well being due to her medical condition, her age, the length of time that she's been missing and the increasing temperatures", authorities said in a statement on Thursday.
