Valve unveils new version of Counter-Strike's Dust 2 map

After eight months of the map being shelved, Valve released a small updated and announced beta testing for the newly revamped Dust II for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Dust2 has been around since Counter-Strike 1.1, and the version now in CS:GO is based around the Source revision. Additionally, the bomb site itself is no longer on a raised surface, but instead on the same level as the rest of the area. Bombsite A will have the doors along the back wall removed completely, while the broken-down cars have been reduced to a single pile of wreckage. As someone who spent countless hours in the first dust map, I'd want something to change for Dust2 but not too much that it'll change the entire map layout. "Coincidence? Probably not", Valve said.

Qualcomm faces $774 million antitrust fine in Taiwan
Qualcomm was fined a record $773 million by Taiwanese regulators for violating antitrust laws for at least the last seven years. Similarly Qualcomm's $975 million fine from China looks puny set against Qualcomm's $11 billion annual revenues from China.

As noted on the Counter-Strike website, the main goals for the Dust II rework center around improving player readibility throughout the map, refining movement and cover, and upgrading the visuals to be more in line with CS:GO's more recent map releases. With this boost now discovered, we will have to wait and see if Valve decides it is too powerful and removes it, or whether or not adreN has found a future game-changing new angle.

While none of the impending changes to the design and structure were shared, the developer did give a slight preview of the spawn location for the Terrorist side.
