Kevin Hogan will be the 28th different starting quarterback for the Browns since 1999 when he takes his first snap on Sunday in Houston, after coach Hue Jackson announced Wednesday that DeShone Kizer has been replaced as his starting quarterback. Deshaun Watson's meteoric rise continues for the Texans, but the Browns have pulled the plug on DeShone Kizer. Hogan will become the 28th quarterback to start for the Browns since they returned to the National Football League as an expansion team in 1999. Hogan played the second half and threw two touchdown passes - a 21-yard completion to rookie tight end David Njoku and a screen pass that Duke Johnson turned into a 41-yard scoring play. He gets the ball out quickly and accurately, neither of which Kizer could do.
The Browns are 0-5 to start the season.
Hogan was a fifth round pick of the Chiefs a year ago out of Stanford.
