"We shall work with students and I hope this institution will go from strength to strength", said Mr Anupam Kher in a Bollywood Hungama exclusive with Faridoon Shahryar shortly after it was announced that he's the new Chairman of Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.

"I feel deeply humbled and honoured to be apportioned as the Chairman of iconic FTII".

A veteran actor, Anupam Kher has won many national and global awards, including the "Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Comic Role" five times. Anupam Kher replaced Gajendra Chauhan who had a tumultuous stint at the top post. He is the only person who earlier headed CBFC, then National School of Drama and now has been appointed Chairman of FTII.

However, it was not only the students who were opposed to this idea.

The appointment of Anupam Kher is, however, posing several questions, while the students are taking his appointment as a joke.

Actor Anupam Kher has been appointed as the new FTII (Film and Television Institute) Chairman.
