North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said Thursday that his country was considering the "highest level of hardline countermeasure in history" in response to President Donald Trump's recent threat to "totally destroy" the North if it attacks.

Beijing's appeal came as a war of words between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-Un escalated, with the young North Korean leader calling the 71-year-old American president a "mentally deranged United States dotard".
