Iran Won't Respond to US 'Bullying' Over Nuclear

The Trump administration previously stated that while Iran has met the requirements of the nuclear deal, it is breaching its spirit by supporting global terrorism and destabilizing the Middle East.

Iran will not give in to USA "bullying" as Washington attempts to undermine Tehran's nuclear deal with world powers, the Islamic Republic's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Sunday.

During the negotiations with the world powers in 2013-15, "the country's officials reached the conclusion that they should negotiate and ignore some of their rights so that sanctions would be removed", he said.

"However, today, we see that despite all agreements and promises and many discussions during the negotiations, the United States treats these negotiations and their outcome in a totally oppressive and bullying manner", he was quoted as saying by Press TV.

"The Iranian nation is standing firm and any wrong move by the domineering regime regarding the [nuclear accord] will face the reaction of the Islamic Republic", Khamenei said in an address to police officers.

Elsewhere, Rouhani said that the world should condemn cruelty being committed against the Rohingya by Myanmar's government and army.

Rouhani made the remarks at Mehrabad airport before departing for NY to attend the annual UN General Assembly meeting. According to Khamenei, Iran will respond to "every wrong step by the United States regarding the nuclear deal".

Rouhani, speaking on Sunday before leaving for NY, said the U.S. should join the countries that continue to support the nuclear deal. The Iranian nation stands strong. He used an analogy of a dinner party on Sunday to describe how countries are benefiting from the 2015 nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or JCPOA.

His comments came as Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani warned the USA that revoking the 2015 nuclear deal will harm Washington primarily as Iran has the ability to revive its previous nuclear capabilities in a short time period.
