American tourists attacked with acid in France train station, prosecutor says

Four female American tourists have been attacked with acid in the French city of Marseille.

Two of them - aged 20 and 21- were reportedly hit in the face and rushed to hospital with burns, while the attacker was arrested by police. She spoke on condition of anonymity, per the French judicial system.

People once used knives, now acid is a weapon of choice in the United Kingdom .

No other information on where the USA tourists were from was released.

The attacker, a 41-year-old woman, was arrested at the scene, Reuters reported.
