Kid Rock's latest speech makes it clear he doesn't support transgender rights

It was the hometown, adoring crowd ready to ratify anything Kid Rock had to say as he opened up Little Caesars Arena with a rollicking concert Tuesday night.

Regardless of their opinion on Kid Rock, most Detroit residents agreed the new arena is spectacular.

Calling Kid Rock a racist in a world in which actual racists have shown their nasty faces in places like Charlottesville, Virginia, is beyond extreme rhetoric.

The dozens of protesters from a civil rights group were met by Kid Rock's supporters, with some displaying the Confederate symbol but there were no immediate indications of violence.

But police were able to keep the peace by maintaining distance between protesters and pro-Kid Rock biker gangs. Instead, striding on stage to "Hail to the Chief" and flanked by dancers holding American flags, Rock delivered a rhyming, campaign-style speech that echoed one he gave during a concert last week in Grand Rapids, Mich., as well as recent blog postings on his web site. He was introduced as the next senator from MI. "Will you please welcome the next senator of the great state of Michigan, Kid "motherf--ing" Rock". He criticized the government's "redistribution of wealth" to help "some deadbeat milking the system" and said he has no problem with gay marriage.

The post, which he shared to Facebook, ended with a post-script that read: "I LOVE BLACK PEOPLE!"

The 71-year-olf first reinstated his son, then announced that there will be a Hell in a Cell next month between Shane and Owens. His merciless beatdown of Vince McMahon was one of the most heated segments on WWE television in some time.

Henderson went on to criticize the "Bawitdaba" singer for his "crass cultural appropriation of black music", his use of the Confederate flag and the insult Kid Rock hurled at Colin Kaepernick, the former NFL player who began protesting racial inequality and police brutality previous year by kneeling during the national anthem.

The musician once again voiced his disapproval of NFL players who refuse to stand for the national anthem. But not about running for the U.S. Senate. "And in the context of the current national racial strife, born of racist torch marches, of presidential equivocations, and of a prolonged debate about the presence of racist history in our midst, I think the Kid Rock extravaganza at a new Detroit arena is absolutely nuts".

Webster, Kid Rock's publicist, was not appeased by the paper's arguments.

He started teasing a run for office in mid-July, creating a website - Kid Rock for US Senate - and has been slamming the media, critics and Common Cause, which has filed a complaint against the rock star for not filing campaign finance reports ever since.

Pollster Ed Sarpolus of Target-Insyght said Kid Rock is better positioned than other GOP candidates for now because "he's got name ID and he's likable".

"Where the battle's going to be played is where do the independents go were he to run?" Eggert reported from Lansing, Michigan.
