Frank Vincent, had roles in 'The Sopranos,' 'Goodfellas', dies at 78

Vincent was perhaps best known for his role in Goodfellas as Billy Batts, where he famously told Joe Pesci's character to "go home and get his shine box" and as Phil Leotardo, Tony's rival in The Soprano's.

With 89 credits over his 41-year career, Vincent's other highlights include starring in Spike Lee movies like "Do The Right Thing" and "Jungle Fever".

Vincent was aged 78 and died following complications from heart surgery in New Jersey on Septemnber 13; the surgery came following a heart attack earlier in the month and he reportedly died on the operating table. He'd also starred in a number of Martin Scorsese films like Raging Bull (1980), Goodfellas (1990), and Casino (1995).

Born in North Adams, Mass., Vincent studied music in his youth-he was an in-demand recording drummer before he became an actor. "Phil was serious", Vincent said in a 2011 interview.
