Apple quietly increases price of iPad Pro models by $50

When the Apple Store came back online after Apple's iPhone event on Tuesday, the company's iPad Pro tablets were $50 more expensive than they had been before the show.

The 12.9in iPad has seen similar increases, with the 256GB and 512GB models seeing their prices rise from £859 and £1039 to £919 and £1,119, respectively.

The 256 and 512GB model of the 10.5-inch iPad Pro now retail for $799 and $999 respectively. NAND has been in short supply since the beginning of the year, due in part to increased consumer demand for SSDs, and the transition from 2D NAND to 3D NAND.

After jumping on the two-flagship bandwagon back in fall of 2014 with the simultaneous iPhone 6 and 6 Plus launch, Apple unveiled no less than three iOS handsets for the first time yesterday, including a game-changing X.

Apple didn't provide an immediate explanation for why it hiked prices, but a report from Reuters in June suggested that there's a global storage on DRAM and NAND memory chips, which provide the storage in iPads.

"The impact on NAND and DRAM will continue to be there and we expect it to be there".

All except for Target, which still lists the original prices on its website, making it the best place to buy Apple's latest tablets right now.

Thankfully, the 64GB variants of iPad Pro have not got any price jump.
