Star Wars: Episode IX Director Confirmed

After two high-profile Star Wars director departures (Phil Lord and Christopher Miller's Han Solo film and Colin Treverrow's untitled Episode IX), Disney is playing it safe and returning a familiar face to the director's chair-J.J.

While he's not explicitly ruled himself out, it doesn't sound like taking on the next episode in the Star Wars story is even on Johnson's radar.

Abrams' film made over $2 billion at the box office and sparked the newest run of Star Wars pictures.

A few days after it was announced that Colin Trevorrow dropped out of directing "Star Wars: Episode IX", LucasFilm confirmed that J.J. Abrams will be coming back to fill the roll for the Star Wars franchise.

The now untitled Episode IX will be directed by J.J. Abrams, who previously directed and co-wrote The Force Awakens. Let's hope that Episode IX won't end up being too much like Return of the Jedi with Abrams behind the wheel. Star Wars: The Last Jedi director, Rian Johnson, is not confident yet that he will be called up to sign on for the next movie. "Whoever does it, I'm going to be really excited to be an audience member again".

J.J. Abrams, of course, directed and helped to write the first movie of the new trilogy - Star Wars: The Force Awaken.

Rodgers was sacked four times and picked off once, a stark contrast from his 38-10 shellacking of Seattle in Week 13 of 2016. There were no pivotal lapses in pass coverage at cornerback, a position group that took a lot of heat last season.

Hopefully, Episode IX won't feel like more of the same.

We talk about the internal buzz from Rian Johnson's Star Wars: The Last Jedi and why Johnson isn't directing the last film in the trilogy.

Filmmaker JJ Abrams will write and direct the ninth installment of the ongoing "Star Wars" saga, Walt Disney Co. said Tuesday, a week after the film lost its writer-director due to creative differences with the studio.

He went on to hint that he's ready to be a spectator when it comes to Star Wars.

In its statement when Trevorrow lost the gig, Lucasfilm said it wanted to "share more information about the film soon".
