Sky is thatgamecompany's next game, and it's Apple

It looks in keeping with the studio's past work, with lush environments to explore and comparatively minimalist game elements.

Journey developer thatgamecompany has revealed a new game for Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, and iPhone called "Sky". The entire game, he said, can be played with the simple controls built into the touch-sensitive Apple TV remote.

If it's anything like TGC's past efforts, expect plenty of subtext and symbolism hidden beneath lush environments and high-flying characters.

The next game from the creators of Journey.

Demonstrated for the first time during Apple's conference earlier today, showing off the power of the newly announced Apple TV 4K, the gameplay is single touch orientated, making it seemingly a flawless fit for the platform. Sky's focus is on exploration, as players fly across the world to collect "light".

Sky is reminiscent of thatgamecompany's breakout hit Journey, in that it combines exploration with a light social experience. Which brings our games, for the first time, to mobile - a platform that many have access to, the world over.

On their official blog, Thatgamecompany wrote "If you can imagine the delight of visiting a theme park where lasting memories are made, we envision Sky will sometimes feel like that". That's right: iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV at launch.
