Porsche says the new V8 makes 550 horsepower and 567 lb-ft of torque - 30 more horsepower and 14 extra lbs of twist than the outgoing Cayenne Turbo and its 4.8-liter twin-turbo V8. The Turbo also gets 18-way adjustable seats with integrated headrests, a heated steering wheel, and heated seats all around as standard.
From launch there are two petrol options, both linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The concept of the new mixed tires with standard dimensions of 285/40 at the front and 315/35 at the rear comes from sports vehicle construction and produces even better longitudinal and lateral power transmission. It also gets active all-wheel drive as standard, Porsche 4D Chassis Control, three-chamber air suspension and the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) electronic roll stabilisation system. Irma makes a landfall at Marco Island, Florida
Downgraded to a tropical storm early on Monday, Irma had ranked as one of the most powerful Atlantic hurricanes recorded. CNN's Chris Cuomo and Ed Lavandera reported from Naples, where conditions quickly deteriorated as Irma got closer.
