Volkswagen brings the ID Crozz concept closer to production

Now, at the currently ongoing Frankfurt International Motor Show, Volkswagen has revealed an updated, more production ready model called the I.D. Crozz II. One thing is clear: "The Golf of the future must once again be a people's auto!"

The most signifacant change on the new I.D. Crozz II would be its more eye catching color, Hibiscus Red Metallic, contrasted by a silver roof.

The I.D. CROZZ is a sporty, zero-emission all-round vehicle that is created to be interactive, and whose electric 4MOTION all-wheel drive system is as impressive on unpaved trails as it is in adverse weather conditions. The updated I.D. Crozz concept is closer to the production version, which will arrive in 2020.

Improved habitability comes courtesy of a newly-developed CleanAir system, which ensures a supply of clean air to the interior.

The new German crossover even has a menu that provides information on the quality of the air in the vehicle. In addition, the SUV is equipped with a new voice assistant, which enables opening and closing of the doors via voice command. There's also a new CleanAir system that monitors the quality of the air in the vehicle and a new voice assistant that lets you activate the fully automatic driving mode or open the doors by using your voice.

The CROZZ will have all-wheel drive-4Motion, in VW speak-with electric motors operating at both ends of the vehicle, one motor for each axle. Design of the LEDs of the headlights will also be making it to production. The full-charge driving range is 500km, with recharging to 80 per cent taking just 30 minutes with fast-charging. Volkswagen estimates that the I.D. Crozz II has a range of 500 km on a single charge.

The company is having a go at the increasingly popular four-door coupe SUV segment with the CROZZ.

Unveiled at the Frankfurt, the Roman numeral indicates this is the second iteration of the CROZZ, a crossover SUV concept reminiscent of the BMW X6 that looks more like a tallish sedan with extra ground clearance. BUZZ - a re-interpretation of the legendary Volkswagen Bulli - will enter the market in 2022. The I.D. concept cars share the new "all-electric architecture" which is a common platform and will be used by all Volkswagen owned companies.
