The father of an Australian woman shot to death by a Minneapolis police officer responding to her 911 call said he was "crushed by sorrow" a week ahead of what would have been his daughter's wedding.

"The night of July 15, Justine went into that back alley, back lane, because she wanted to help somebody in need", he said.
"We are determined to get justice for Justine, because in getting justice for her, we will be getting justice for all of us".
An Australian flag stood prominently on the stage next to a large colour photo of Damond bordered in pink and white flowers.
Don Damond also addressed the crowd, reading excerpts from his fiancee's journal and reflecting on the night her life ended.
Damond was engaged to be married in August.
Damond, a 40-year-old spiritual healer and meditation teacher from Australia, had moved to Minnesota to be with her fiancé, Don Damond.
During a visit to Minneapolis, where Ms Damond was shot, Mr Ruszczyk said: "We should be walking down the street smiling and laughing, But now every step on the foot path is very painful".
Police are investigating the shooting but the officer who fired will not talk to them, and the ABC understands even after a month, no significant police findings about what happened have been passed on.
Noor's partner, Officer Matthew Harrity, told investigators a noise startled him just before Ms Damond approached their police SUV.
The search warrant application was filed Thursday.
Ms Damond's friend Lindsay Aiger, who is at the event, told the ABC Ms Damond would be happy "so many people could experience her energy and message". Noor shot through the open driver-side window from the passenger seat and fatally struck the Australian bride-to-be. Minneapolis police officers are now required to have those cameras on when they respond to calls or make traffic stops.
Damond's July 15 shooting sent shock waves through her Minneapolis neighborhood and sparked a number of protests.
Noor has declined to be interviewed by investigators and can not be compelled to do so. The memorial will end with a silent walk around Lake Harriet. "And that is who Justine was", Damond said.
