Scaramucci says Trump 'needed to be much harsher' on white supremacists

On Saturday, Trump condemned hate 'on many sides, ' which many, including a number of Republicans, interpreted as Trump equating the white supremacists with the counter-protesters, of which one was killed.

Scaramucci, who was sacked last month after just 11 days in his White House role, said on ABC's "This Week" that the president should have identified the marchers as domestic terrorists, as National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster did on Sunday. Scaramucci decried what he called the "Bannon-Bart" influence at the White House, labelling it "nonsense".

"I think he needed to be much harsher as it relates to the white supremacists", Scaramucci said on ABC's "This Week".

"Well, I wouldn't have recommended that statement", the former (and briefly) White House communications director said of Trump's "blame on many sides" speech yesterday.

When Scaramucci served as communications director, he went on a rant about Trump administration staffers during a call with a New Yorker reporter.

"We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides, on many sides", Trump said at a press conference from his golf resort in Bedminster, N.J. The president is going to do what he wants to do, how he wants to do it.

His firing capped a tumultuous period within the Trump White House. "There were probably 200 people that didn't want me in that job". "Maybe Ivanka would do that ... maybe Jared [Kushner] would do that", he said.

"I think at the end of the day, the president knows who are the leakers ― the people undermining his agenda that are serving their own interests", Scaramucci said.

SCARAMUCCI: Well, I think the president knows what he's going to do with Steve Bannon.

If you're in the mood for something light, Anthony Scaramucci makes his not-so-triumphant return to television by sitting down with George Stephanopoulos on "This Week".

Scaramucci also talked about that now-infamous bonkers phone call, saying, "I made a mistake".

Scaramucci would not elaborate but said he spoke this week with President Donald Trump.
